Inter-faith food shuttle

On Geer Street in Durham, between Roxboro and Mangum Streets, you will find a beautiful, blooming oasis. Two bee hives call this Interfaith Food Shuttle learning garden a home. These bees help with garden pollination in the pollinator garden, which is full of healthy food for them! This location also serves as a great space to hold some of our apiary tours, but Inter-faith food shuttle does even more than this. They redistribute food to people in 7 counties as a means to end hunger. 272,000 people in our area do not know where their next meal is coming from, and this is unacceptable. 6 millions pounds of food is rerouted to people's plates. Instead of throwing it away, it is given to those in need. Nutrition education, farm stands, culinary job training and catering are all subjects they specialize in as well.
